Products I want to Use Up!

Hi everyone! Welcome back to my blog.  Sorry I've being MIA and I am trying to correct that, so let's start this month with a brief post.

A couple weeks ago I was watching a Youtube video that made me remember that there are some products on my collection that tend to either get lost or that I use but never seem to end so I decided to take them out and use them up and I will like to share them with you today.

To start of, going in the order that I would normally apply my skin care/makeup, I will start with this Neutrogena Ultra-light moisturizer for normal-oily skin. I used to use this some time ago and then the Philosophy's Hope in a Jar arrived in my life and left this one aside. This Neutrogena has an SPF of 30 which is good, is very light and doesn't add up to my combo skin. I have about half of the tube left and I started to use it again a couple days ago and I could say I enjoy it a lot.

I do not have a foundation to use up, more like 4 but that's a whole other story, but what I do have is this MAC Prep + Prime Fortified Skin Enhancer in Neutralizer. This is a light yellow tinted cream, very hydrating that is supposed to be used either before or after foundation or even as a foundation since the light tint is going to help with the redness of my face. I like it, don't love it but I spent about $36.00 on it so I better put it to use. Last Sunday we went out and I used it in combination with my Flormar BB Cream and it even my skin tone very well.

I thought I didn't have a powder to finish up but I do have not 1 but 2. They are the Palladio Rice Powder (priced at around $6.00 where ever Palladio is sold in Panama) and the elf HD Powder ($6.00 at their website or in the US at Target). That Palladio powder I depotted since the case is so small and I use that sucker every day for more than a year and it is still going strong. I do not use it to set my foundation, I use it before (check out Wayne Goss video with a trick on how to make your foundation last longer). The elf Powder is the one I use to set my foundations or BB Creams. It is a little messy but I keep a small amount in a tiny Tarte case to make my life easier.

For bronzer/contour I would love to use up my Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, which I use every day to warm up my complexion but it seems to be a never ending product and, considering it is a deluxe sample size I got years agot, it has quite a lot of product. As for contour what I found is actually not a contouring product but a powder foundation. It is the Laura Geller Balance-n-Brighten in medium. About 2 weeks ago I was reorganizing some things in my drawers and I found it. I've had it for so long and barely used it since it is too dark for me but I swatched it and noticed the ashy tone that could be a good option for contour. Hopefully I will be able to use it up (it is the top pic at the right).

For highlight/blush: Benefit's High Beam, a pretty pink shimmery highlighter (delux sample size that looks like half way is gone) and Maybelline's Dream Mousse Blush in Peach Satin. Those Dream Mousse blushes came out ages ago and I gave my BFF the more mauvey one and kept the pink, almost gone one but it has a looooong way to go.

For my brows, I remembered that I have this Essence Brow Desing in dark brown and I quite like it. I want to use it up since I have an It Cosmetics brow pencil, a Revlon brow product and my Tarte brow mousse.

Finally, these two are like bonus products. One is the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer, a silicone based primer that is supposed to help prolong the wear of your foundation and make things go more smooth. I had one, a travel size, ages ago and hated it so much that I gave it to my BFF (I think I sold it to her) but since then, my skin has changed and it seems to help with the wear however I still use a pore filling primer on top.  The other product is Smashbox's Photo Finish Undereye Primer, that supposedly helps to avoid undereye concealer creasing. Haven't noticed any spectacular but I'll keep using it (heck, I have it, I exchanged 500 Sephora points for the kit this came in so why not?).

Well, these are the products I'd love to see gone. Hopefully I will suceed and used them up.  I will keep you posted on my progress.

Thank you for stopping by and see you on my next post!

A Little Fashion Post

So I'm not fashion-y at all. I like what I like and sometimes that does not work/adjust to my body type which is like "hourglass-y but chubby" and I have to look for pieces that not only match or coordinate with one another but also that fit me well and does not make me look like a fool, like a 40 year trying to look half her age.  So, that being said, for a casual Friday, I chose a pair of kind of lose fit jeans from Estampa (got them for $12), an olive green tank top, olive green jacket from Berksha (bought it like 3 years ago) so they "match" and create a military-ish vibe, a regular black belt, and a pair of gold-nude loafers, so comfortable that I just can't put them down. Now some more detail pics so you can take a closer look and enjoy.  See ya next time!

Review: Boscia Skin Care

Review: Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation
