Sephora Bday Haul!!

Hi everyone!! Welcome back to my blog. This time I have a little Sephora haul.
Last month, September, it was my birthday so my lovely husband and my daughter gave me a gift card from Sephora. Also my best friend gave me something extra so I went ahead a purchased a couple thing that caught my eye and I thought I could share them with you. So lets go ahead and enjoy.

One of the first things that caught my eye, for quite sometime, was this Stila "Eyes Are The Windows" palette in Spirit. This palette is part of the collection Stila came out to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The palette comes with mostly shimmery eyeshadows but there are a couple matte shadows that could be used as transition color or as a browbone highlighter. Very nice pigmentation, almost no fall out, and really good quality.  And, lets talk about the packaging for a second, shall we? It is gorgeous!! a rosey gold lid, big mirror, shade names are on the back of the palette. It's just pretty.

In the same collection you could find the Mind, Body and Soul palettes. There is one that is completely matte shadows, so there is something for everyone. They are still availabe in Sephora's website as well as Stila's for $49.00.

The next thing that caught my eye was this "Give Me Some Lip" set. With a $25.00 value, this set comes with one full size Smashbox Be Legendary gloss in Pout (retail value $20.00), and deluxe sample sizes of Bite Beauty High Pigmented Lip Pencil, an Urban Decay mini Revolution lipstick, a Lust for Laquer mini gloss from Marc Jacobs (really expensive), Buxom's Full On Lip Cream, and a Nars Lip Gloss in Orgasm. You are probably wondering "why purchase a bunch of minis instead of full sized products?" Well, first of all because I rarely finish up a full sized lip product (being either lipgloss or lipstick), and second because with this kind of sets you can try different brands without commiting to a full size of something that you don't like and, adding the fact that I am not in the US and returning the item is not an option, I'd rather try this.

Another set that I purchased was this little skincare set. It contains a Purity Made Simple facial cleanser (8 oz. bottle) and a small Hope In a Jar moisturizer (0.5 oz).  The 8 oz. cleanser, on its own has a value of $23.00 but I found this little duo for the same price and thought "what the heck, let's do it".  The cleanser is an Allure Beauty award winner and it's kind of a one stop shop since it will not only deeply clean the skin but also remove all of your makeup. I have only tried it once or twice but my face felt sooo clean that I want my current cleanser to be done soon enough so I can use Purity everyday.  As for the moisturizer, it is not a lotion, it is kind of fluffly, soufflé like and it doesn't make my skin feel oily or with residue, no strong scent. As the Purity cleanser, Hope in a Jar comes in 3 different sizes, being the 0.5 oz one the smallest and has a value of $15.00. I only use a very small amount and I think I have found a moiturizer that not only suits my combo/oily skin but also it will last me quite some time and has a reasonable price.

As it was my birthday month, the present for this year is a mini Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant mascara in black and a mini Rouge Artist Natural Lipstick. Love the lipstick color. It looks very red/dark on the tube but when applied it shears out and is kinda pinkish. The mascara, haven't tried it but it will be added to the deluxe same sizes that I have collected so far (don't want to open a new mascara yet, even if it is a mini one).

And, to finish up this Sephora haul, let me show you the samples I got. There was a promo code for a sample size of the Super Goop BB Cream and after watching Makupbytiffanyd's video on that, I wanted to try it. Also there is a Living Proof Style Extender Primer sample, a Dolce & Gabbana The One for men sample for my hubby, and a Derma Doctor KP duty body scrub sample that is so small that I am still wondering it if will be enough for at least one use since it is just a satched. We'll see.

Well, that will be all for now. Hope I gave you some ideas on what to purchase and, since Holiday season is fast approaching I hope I can make some "decent" online shopping. I have a couple things in my Sephora cart, waiting to be purchased and also some BH Cosmetics that I am really considering. Either or, I will for sure share my hauls with you.

Thank you for your time and see you in my next post!

A Little Fashion Post

So I'm not fashion-y at all. I like what I like and sometimes that does not work/adjust to my body type which is like "hourglass-y but chubby" and I have to look for pieces that not only match or coordinate with one another but also that fit me well and does not make me look like a fool, like a 40 year trying to look half her age.  So, that being said, for a casual Friday, I chose a pair of kind of lose fit jeans from Estampa (got them for $12), an olive green tank top, olive green jacket from Berksha (bought it like 3 years ago) so they "match" and create a military-ish vibe, a regular black belt, and a pair of gold-nude loafers, so comfortable that I just can't put them down. Now some more detail pics so you can take a closer look and enjoy.  See ya next time!

Review: Boscia Skin Care

Review: Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation
