Empties! February 2015

Hi everyone and welcome back! Today I will share my empties with you. As you can see, I have a lot so let's get started:

Since my last empties post was quite some time ago, you will noticed that we have used up a lot of the foamy hand soap from Bath & Body Works. I keep repurchasing them because we like the different scents, because of the offers, and because they don't dry out the hands. My daughter's favorite is Twilight Woods and mine, Sweet Pea.

Staying in the toiletries, I used up two more Bath & Body works products: a "Carried Away" body lotion that to be honest I felt was a little too liquidy not like other lotions that I have that are a little bit thicker and also I used up a 3oz. Sweet Pea body wash. I liked it because it lathers very nicely and leaves a nice smell and softness to the skin.

I used up a Victoria's Secret body mist from a set my husband bought me a couple years ago and I still have like 1 or 2 left at home.

Finished up 2 deodorants: a Dove original spray, not my favorite, and a Rexona Clinical one. I prefer the clinical strenght one since it is very hot an humid always and this keeps me dry and nice smelling.

Herbal Essences Hidralísalo shampoo: a moisturizing shampoo that I used half to bottom of the bottle to wash my makeup brushes because I found something better.

La Esquina del Jabón soap: made of coconut milk, very soft, nice, moisturizing soap. I can be purchased locally in Panama at We Fresh Market (Costa Del Este), Orgánica Store (all locations), Magic Gift Store (Centennial Plaza), in local specialty outdoor markets, and also through their web page www.laesquinadeljabon.com. Go ahead and get their products, not only do they have natural, organic soaps but they are expanding their product range including lip balms, body scrubs, and body lotions. Remember that this is a local small business and we should support them whenever we can.

More skincare! A deluxe sample size of the ArteSanas chocolate scrub that I will not repurchase. I did not like that my skin felt very greasy after using it. So greasy that I had to shower again.

Esteé Lauder Take it Away makeup remover: loved it!! It removes everything and I am seriously thinking about buying the full size once I am done with some of my makeup remores.

The Boscia Night Moisturizer and the eye cream: loved how the moisturizer filled in my pores and that it was not greasy as it is a gel texture. Don't know if I will get the full size since I am in the hunt for a nice night cream. As for the eye cream, I didn't see much of a difference.

Bioderma Soothing Cream: it was nice for those couple days when my skin was very irritated and dry. It is a nice gelly texture, with that "no scent" smell. Helps the skin a lot, next day you can see a difference on the texture. I have the regular version of this (this one was oil free) for whenever I might need it.

BioDerma Micellar Water: I don't have to say anything else but that I love it. Removes makeup, dirt, etc. Bad thing is the prices has gone so high that I have to look for cheaper alternatives.

Nuxe's Micellar Cleansing water: won't repurchase it. Didn't like the scent, it once burned my eyes, and once you try BioDerma nothing comes as close to be as good as it is.

Clarisonic's face cleanser: I got this for free a couple years ago when I registered my Clarisonic Mia2 on their website. It was very nice, lathered very well, and did a nice job in conjuction with my Clarisonic. The only bad thing: it was too runny and I had to store it with the lid and lettering facing up if not, it leaked.

Philosophy's Hope in a Jar: my fave moisturizer of life. I am looking forward to finish up a couple more products that I have at home so I can purchase a new one. I don't mind the price tag since this little one lasted me quite some time.

LUSH's Veganese hair conditioner: A sample size I was given at Lush to try. Did not like it, did not see any volume and it left my hair too dry. So dry that I had to use a second conditioner.

A few random products: My Renu eyedrops and saline solution for my contacts: can't live without any of these two.

A sample of the Soap And Glory Naked body butter: will not purchase a full size ever. Didn't like the smell at all, felt too heavy and uncomfortable. It was so bad that I had to shower again at midnight since I couldn't sleep.

Deluxe sample size of the Laura Mercier Face Polish: really liked it. The granules were so fine but they were so many that they did not get lost in the lotiony part of the scrub and it exfoliated really nice and smooth. As soon as I finish up the Korres one I bought I'd like to try the Murad one and compare them to this but it's on my Sephora loves list for some time now.

Finally, the few makeup things that I used up:

Full sized products: my Physicians Formula Eye Booster liquid liner in Ultra Black: haven't repurchaed the black but the brow one since I am trying the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner. This is my all time fave eyeliner since it stays put all day long.

ELF eyelid primer, the $1.00 one: my fave eye primer. It's only $1.00 and it works. When the Cyber Monday sale comes in November I will stock up (I have a few backups still and one tube lasts forever).

CoverGirl Flamed Out mascara: nice mascara. This one was waterproof but not a pain to remove, which is nice however I felt my lashes cumpled out a little.

ELF Makeup Mist & Set: a very cheap makeup setting spray that, at least for me, I feel it works. It holds my makeup through the day. It's only $3.00 on the ELF website and in the USA ELF can be found at Target.

Makup samples:  Kat Von D Lock it Tattoo foundation: very full coverage foundation, doesn't settle into pores or fine lines and lasts all day long. My sample shade is Light 48 and I am seriously considering buying the full size (which is around $35.00 and sold only at Sephora).

Becca Ultimate Complexion Coverage Creme: another foundation sample, this one in the color Cashmere. I liked it but not as much as the Kat Von D one and, although this were little packet samples since both were very full coverage I did not need too much and I could make 3 or 4 uses out of each.

Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch: It's their take on "pore diminishing/filling" primers. It is a very smooth, non scented lotion but I felt like a needed a lot of it in order to smooth pores and so on. Full size is about $35.00 to $40.00, can be purchased locally and online but I have found some other things that for me work better.

The last 2 things that I have to show are my Maybelline Fit Me Powder in 125, which I liked to set my foundation and also my undereye concealer. It looks like there is a lot but it was getting kind of hard to get product out with my brush. This is one product that I will repurchase later on, when I am finished with some other things I have at home.

Finally, some more packet samples from Kiehl's (their BB Cream in Fair that I couldn't use more that 1 time since I forgot about it, it was opened for too long and it had to go), MakeUp Forever (the HD Primer that I like but I am not 100% convinced to buy it), and First Aid Beauty (their face cleanser that I already have a 2oz. tube at home, waiting to be used since I liked it very much).

Dang that was long! Sorry I was so brief but you can see I had a lot. And, as soon as I am done taking pictures for the post, I start accumulating new empty products.

I will quickly announce that, from my products I want to use up, I have hit pan on my Too Faced bronzer, the Maybelline blush is going fairly fast, the eyebrow pencil still strong, and Neutrogena's moisturizer should be gone within 2 weeks.  I'll keep you posted on those. As for the Laura Geller Balance 'n Brighten, I still have a lot of product to go through.

That'll be all for now. Thank you very much for stopping by and see you on my next post!

A Little Fashion Post

So I'm not fashion-y at all. I like what I like and sometimes that does not work/adjust to my body type which is like "hourglass-y but chubby" and I have to look for pieces that not only match or coordinate with one another but also that fit me well and does not make me look like a fool, like a 40 year trying to look half her age.  So, that being said, for a casual Friday, I chose a pair of kind of lose fit jeans from Estampa (got them for $12), an olive green tank top, olive green jacket from Berksha (bought it like 3 years ago) so they "match" and create a military-ish vibe, a regular black belt, and a pair of gold-nude loafers, so comfortable that I just can't put them down. Now some more detail pics so you can take a closer look and enjoy.  See ya next time!

Review: Boscia Skin Care

Review: Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation
