My First VIB Sale - November 2014

Hi everyone and welcome back to my blog. I have a very long overdue haul to show you. It is from my first VIB sale from Sephora. Back in November last year, and since I am a VIB with Sephora I "earned" my 20% off discount code so I decided to purchase some goodies.

It was my very first VIB sale and it was madness. It was so bad that Sephora's site crashed for almost a whole day the very first day of the sale. I was able to place my order really early and get my confirmation before everyone and their mother went cray. The only thing that took almost forever was the shipping but my box arrived ok, as always.

Now, let me show you what I bought and, since its been quite some time, I have used almost everything so I'm throwing a couple mini reviews as well.  Let's begin:

One of the first things that I added to my cart, and surprisingly sold out very fast, was this Shiseido Facial Cotton. I know, it is an expensive bag of cotton and why buy that when I could have chosen something better? Because I have heard so many things about this cotton and I can assure you those claims are true. This is sooo soft, no fuzzies are left behind, doesn't eat up your liquid product, doesn't drip, they have the right size and they are thick enough. I opened the bag on late November/early December and use 1 square each day and I still have enough cotton for like a whole month and I have already repurchased a backup. This bag is priced at $9.50.

I bought a box of 2 new brush heads for my Clarisonic Mia2, this time the Deep Pore Cleansing heads to try them. This set is priced at $44.00 and I noticed recently that I have to purchase the 3 pack that was available at the time since I had to purchase an extra brush head 2 weeks ago. I love my Clarisonic and will continue to repurchase the brush heads.

This was one of the things I was most excited for. I was able to snatch the Melted Kisses holiday set from Too Faced. It comes with 4 mini versions of their popular Melted Liquified Lipsticks and I am pretty sure they started the whole liquid lipstick trend that is going on right now.  I was eyeing this set for some time and it sold out. Luckily, when the VIB sale was on, they were available like for 2 seconds and I was able to grab mine. It comes with the colors, in the same order as in the box, Melted Nude (an orangy based nude), Melted Peony (my fave, a pinky neutral color), Melted Fuchsia (a bright pink), and Melted Berry (a deep red). The set was $25.00 which is good since each one is $21.00 a full size but they are so opaque that you don't need much so they will last a long time. As for the wear, they wear off kind of funny. Also they are drying since they are a matte finish so put on a lip balm, preferably one that will not change the texture of the product, before putting the lipstick on. Another recommendation: exfoliate your lips because this will stick to any dry patch, even the smallest one.

I also grabbed this duo from Urban Decay. It came with 2 1oz. bottles of their De-Slick makeup setting spray for around $20.00. I know they might seem small but considering a full size is around $35.00 I took advantage of the offer. I have been using it for about a month and I love it. I use it everyday and I noticed that my bottles is about half gone but I still have a full one. This is one of the things that I could see myself purchasing since this sucker does work. I put on my face makeup around 5:00 a.m. and when I take it off at 6:00 p.m. I can still see it on, blush, bronzer, contour, the whole 9 yards.

I was very interested in purchasing a value set from Origins but, at the time I hit the check out button, it popped up a message that it was sold out. I got mad and went back, looking for something else and I found this little gem from Murad. It was my first time trying the brand and, back in November when I posted the picture of my purchase on Facebook, a friend of mine told me I would love it and oh boy was she right. I already used up the foaming cleanser, LOVED IT!! My skin felt so good, so clean but not tight. This I will repurchase when I am done with a bunch of cleansers that I have to work on (Daily Cleansing Foam, $28.00 for the full size).

Also there was tiny eye cream tube that I am almost done with. It is really moisturizing under the eyes but I really do not see any major changes in my undereye area. I don't think I will repurchase since I have a couple more deluxe sample sizes at home and, since you need a teeny tiny amount it will be quite some time before I purchase a new one (Renewing Eye Cream, $75.00 full size).

There is also a very interesing texture moisturizer. It is the Hydro-Dynamic Ultimate Moisture and it is not a cream or a gel, it is like a balm. It is very light weight, as they claim it locks in the moisture, doesn't make me oily, and my makeup goes on very smoothly and it does not mess with the texture of my primer and/or foundation. The full size is $65.00, pretty expensive, and this deluxe sample size didn't came full (I am already half way in). I stopped using it not because I don't like it but because I have another older moiturizer that I am working on. Do not know if I will repurchase mostly because of the price tag.

Finally, an Intensive-C Radiance Peel deluxe same size was included and let me tell you that thing is intense. The full size is 1.7 oz and it costs $49.50. I have used mine about 3 times since my skin has been acting up a little and it burns, not a lot, but it burns so you can feel it working. I have noticed that my skin starts to peel off right after I remove it but that is the whole purpose of a peeling. It was scary at first but my skin is so soft and looks smoother than before. Probably will purchase the full size but this tiny guy will last me a couple more months since I sparingly use it.

As for the samples, I got the Boscia Detoxifing Black Cleanser that I really like, 2 Glamglow Powermud Dualcleanse Treatment (a mud mask that cleans your skin) that I felt were meh! but I didn't like the scent at all, and Agave Healing Oil treatment that I am almost done with and loooved the way it left my hair, really shine and smells so so good.

Also, they were giving away this cute plastic tote with every purchase. I am thinking about cutting it and having it framed, will see.

That will be all for now. I know I am really late to the party on this subject but hey, better late than never.

Thank you for taking your time to ready my blog and see you on my next post!

A Little Fashion Post

So I'm not fashion-y at all. I like what I like and sometimes that does not work/adjust to my body type which is like "hourglass-y but chubby" and I have to look for pieces that not only match or coordinate with one another but also that fit me well and does not make me look like a fool, like a 40 year trying to look half her age.  So, that being said, for a casual Friday, I chose a pair of kind of lose fit jeans from Estampa (got them for $12), an olive green tank top, olive green jacket from Berksha (bought it like 3 years ago) so they "match" and create a military-ish vibe, a regular black belt, and a pair of gold-nude loafers, so comfortable that I just can't put them down. Now some more detail pics so you can take a closer look and enjoy.  See ya next time!

Review: Boscia Skin Care

Review: Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation
